Our team is passionate about transforming the healthcare sector and committed to accelerating access to EV-based technologies. As we expand our team, we are seeking a skilled Junior Scientist to support our analytical R&D department.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- We are looking for a Junior Scientist with experience in bioprocesses to join the team and contribute to our mission of developing innovative healthcare solutions based on extracellular vesicles (EV).
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
- Perform biomolecular separations using different techniques such as size-exclusion chromatography and Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF), according to established protocols.
- Assist in protocol adaptation and optimization for tech transfer to GMP grade.
- Develop and validate new protocols for different biomolecular separations.
- Perform EV analytics according to established protocols and suggest optimization strategies when applicable.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation and method-related issues to ensure the accuracy and reliability of results.
- Maintain, test, and calibrate equipment following company policies and suppliers’ guidelines.
- Document experimental procedures, results, and observations clearly and concisely.
- Stay current with industry trends, developments, and regulatory requirements for the different equipment.
- Contribute to ongoing research projects, assisting in experimental design, hands-on bench work, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
- Communicate research findings and progress in regular team meetings, presentations, and written reports.
- Participate in relevant professional development opportunities, such as conferences, workshops, or training programs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology) or Msc with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with biomolecular separation techniques, including size-exclusion chromatography and/or TFF.
- Strong understanding of different techniques for the separation and characterization of EV and other biomolecules, including chromatographic and filtration principles.
- Experience with techniques used for EV analytics (e.g. NTA, qPCR, Flow Cytometry, WB) will be valued.
- Experience working in a GLP and/or GMP setting is advantageous.
- Proficiency in method development, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate results.
- Good communication skills in English and/or Portuguese.
